Ok. I finally fell asleep at 6AM, woke up at Noon. Did Chores until 7:45PM Went shopping - 3 stores - thought it would take a long time - but only took an hour. That means I am walking faster. One of the stores was on the far side of a neighboring city (Plano).
I forgot to turn on my spinal stimulator when i woke up. So I only was relying on pain meds for 9 hours. The Doctor told me yesterday that I must exercise. So at one of the stores, I used a hand basket, and carried the 2 bags of groceries - one in each hand - to the car. I bagged the groceries, so I made sure they were almost the same weight. Total weight was 20 LBS, which is the max the MD allows me to carry. I was feeling a little weak in the lower back by the time I got to the 3rd store.
I relied on the cart to hold me up. When I got home, it was hard to get out of the car. I stood up, and it was hard to make my legs move. There was little pain, but it was like my legs were ignoring me. So I did what I always do - I talked to them out loud and said: OK, Legs, Move! and then they took me to the back of the car. I filled my fold-a-cart with the groceries. I had to push the cart with my left hand hand. It hurt too much to push the cart with both hands. I was slightly bent over, both knees were bent, mt left shoulder was lower than my right, and my back was really arched.
It was during the walk from the car to the apartment that I realized that my spinal stimulator was not on. I wondered if it was broken and had stopped working.
I got in the house and unloaded groceries. Then I got the remote control and checked out the spinal stimulator. sure enough, it was turned off, so I must have forgotten to turn it on. As soon as I turned it on, I was able to stand up straight. A modern day miracle!
