Back aches

My back has been hurting off and on for 2 weeks now. I tried all combinations of therapies I could think of. I thought cold compress was the solution, but it stopped working after 2 days. I think there was some swelling, co the cold compressed heped, but the sewlling was a symptom, not the cause.

I saw the surgeon last Thursday, and he said that its not fair that you get your hips replaced and then your back starts to hurt. I sae the Chiro today, and I think we have a good model of what is going on. I see a spine specialist tomorrow, and we'll see if she confirms this model.

Essentially, vertebrae L3 is stiff. The flesh around it is compensating for L3. And it could be that L3 is touching L2 or L4 (a misalignment), so they are moving as one unit. So these bones are not moving in concert with the flesh, so the flesh gets irratated with the pressure exerted on then every time I move.

So, to change this, I have some extra exercises to do. I need to bend side to side, and lean on a counter while flexing my waist front to back. (NOT AT THE SAME TIME!!). I am already seeing a good effect.

I haven';t got much done these last two weeks because I have been in pain, and the pain makes me tired.

There are two textual games that I really like: Super Text Twist and Boggle. I have these as software apps on my computer. I have found something new in Boggle. It is called Match Play. It allows me to compete with people, one on one, across the whole world. I have played with people from Salvador, Germany and India. I thought I was good at this game, but these people are really giving me something to shoot for. You get a rating that indicates how good you are. My rating is consistantly going up, but there are always people at a hire rating to compete with. We don't get to pick who with play against. The computer does it based on trying to match ratings of players that are playing RIGHT NOW. My rating is currently about 2050.

As a result of this, I am learning a lot of new words, and I am getting better at reading text in a 2D spacial justification on a grid. It is a good brain work out.
