I found a Loose End in LDS doctrine today while I slept. Heavenly Father is said to be able to have spirit children forever.
But what about the spirit chuildren born after the war in heaven, when do they get a chance to choose a side?
There is a teaching of Joseph Smith that Jesus will return and declare the work finished, meaning that the judgement of mankind will begin. WHat about the spirit children born to Heavenly father after this declaration.
Will these spirits get bodies? Will these spirits share in the atonement of Jesus Christ?
Will the atonement be automatically applied like it is for thise who died before eight years old? IF so, doesn't that limit the number of Heavenly Father's children who will become Gods?
Or does Heavenly Father not give birth to spirit children forever, but instead stops at some point.
This isn't important, it is just a loose end. I find it interesting that there is a looose end.

Somethings are not to be known until this life has ended. I can add some questions that may help you look at it in a different way. Im not one to say"Just take it on faith" To me thats a copout. May I ask" Could it be that he has other worlds that will be challenged for their faith in another way?" "Is he populating them with the continual creation of children?" " Has he decided that even though he can ,he doesnt make more children?" ( You and I alone are a handful) I say this ,Dont put to much weight on a loose end like that one especially.I could probably sit down and come up with a bunch. A friend of mine once said that he was upset with his church,i think he was catholic. But he was upset because they couldnt give him an acceptable answer to his one question. Therefore he wouldnt follow them anymore. His question was " Do angels really have wings?" So he put his eternal progression ,here on earth, on hold just for that? I was stunned. To me it was no where near "Which church is true?" or"Is the Bible the only book we should call the words of God?" That to me seemed an excuse not to live any sacred rules. Kind of like saying "did joseph Smith take a shovel to help him dig up the plates? " Until someone can actually give a provable answer, Im not going to church.
